Betsy Stukes

Betsy Stukes is an associate attorney with the firm who is dedicated to the art of practicing criminal defense. Attorney Stukes is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a B.A. magna cum laude in both Political Science and Speech Communication. After earning her two degrees, Betsy went on to study at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where she earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.). During her time in law school, she participated in numerous criminal law clinics, earned the Texas Exes Teaching Award, and was the Chief Articles Editor for the American Journal of Criminal Law.

Aside from her extensive educational experience, Ms. Stukes has interned with the Texas Defender Service, the Charleston County Public Defender, and the Harris County Public Defender. She has also volunteered a great deal of her time teaching local students about basic legal issues, assisting victims of domestic violence, and lobbying for Rio Grande Valley residents' property rights. Betsy is a member of the Houston Bar Association. Her genuine commitment to helping real people navigate difficult times proves invaluable to the clients of Billy Skinner & Associates.
