According to HPD, Stephen Guy Ellis was charged with intoxication manslaughter for causing a fatal crash on Highway 290. Ellis was reportedly under the influence while speeding in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix, eastbound near the 23000 block of the NW Freeway around 9 p.m.
Mr. Ellis was trying to change from the far right to the center lane when he rammed into the back of the black Tahoe. The other driver was killed instantly and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ellis was placed under arrest after failing a sobriety test.
