Drunk-Driving Mother Arrested in South Carolina After Trying to Throw Son Over a Fence

A woman in South Carolina crashed her car while drunk and then tried to throw her four-year-old son over a fence while fleeing the scene. Since the incident, she has been banned from driving and ordered to wear an alcohol and drug monitor

According to authorities, two witnesses saw the 2009 white Lexus driving erratically before crashing into a median barrier on the interstate highway near Spartanburg, approximately 95 miles northwest of Columbia. The driver, Nikki Settle, 25, reportedly exited the car with her son in her arms, jumped the barrier and crossed the highway in an attempt to escape.

Settle then tried to throw her son over the 10-ft-tall fence before witnesses were able to coax her back to the scene of the accident. The child, who was unhurt, was turned over to his grandmother.
