Police Say Man Used 13-Year-Old Nephew as Designated Driver

According to HPD, local man, Omar Ornelas Lopez, 27, made his 13-year-old nephew drive him around because he was too intoxicated to drive. Authorities claim the officer noticed the vehicle disregarding stop signs and making wide. After stopping the car, Lopez exited the vehicle from the passenger side and appeared to be drunk. His 13-year-old nephew was in the driver’s seat. Lopez has been charged with endangering a child.
